Puppy Socialization at Deerfield Vet
"Untrained dogs become the prisoners
of
their own misbehavior." -
Carolyn Krause

Deerfield Veterinary Hospital is now offering a puppy socialization package. Puppy playdays are a day when several puppies stay for the day and are allowed, under supervision, to play together and to socialize with all of us here at Deerfield. It is a positive hospital experience for your puppy and is a parents’ day off.
Puppy playdays will be held on Thursdays for puppies under 30 pounds and Tuesdays for dogs & puppies over 30 pounds.
Your puppy should be dropped off in the morning, 7:00 – 9:00, and picked up any time before 6:45pm.
The total price for this puppy package is $48.00. Please call in advance to register your puppy for the class and to schedule playdays. After your three playdays included in the package, you may continue to bring your puppy to playday up to six months of age for $16.00 per visit.
- Requirements for puppy playdays include the following:
- Puppies must be current on all vaccinations.
- Puppies must be on flea & heartworm preventatives.
- Puppies must be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.
Misti Fry also offers individual training sessions for those puppies who need extra attention. She offers these sessions to adult dog patients as well. If you feel your pet needs one-on-one counseling please call us at 417-889-2727 or contact Misti at 417-866-6490 to set up an appointment.
Misti Fry teaches dog owners how to mold their pet into their ideal family member. She has been working closely with Carolyn Krause of Firedog Enterprises teaching her Positively Puppies Classes. Carolyn’s program has been integrated into Springfield Side Kick Dog Training and expanded to provide the Positively Puppies program at several local veterinarian offices.
Each of the Positively Puppies classes has an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator as an instructor and the puppies have an opportunity to achieve their AKC S.T.A.R Puppy Certificate at completion of the class.
Misti has been training dogs in some capacity for 15 years. She has trained her dogs in tracking, agility, and obedience and has earned titles through AKC events. She has two young children and she taught her resident dogs to accept the new babies and the changes that came with two children in the house.
Teaching people to teach their dogs how to be family members is the perfect challenge for Misti. Puppy classes are her passion because early experience sets the tone for the rest of the dog’s life. Dogs over six months of age can benefit from the relationship building that training provides. Misti and her staff schedule private sessions in your home or at a host veterinarian’s office.
